Pieces of Venice, a project that salvages noble materials from the Venice Lagoon, transforming them into design objects through interventions such as: cutting, drilling, sanding, and hollowing out.
The resulting pieces have a strong bond with their place of origin and are primarily designed for children. These modern toys are ideally designed by parents, grandparents and other relatives who have a sense of the childhood world and can also be enjoyed by those in their ‘second childhood’ who have maintained their youthful wonder along with a playful approach to life.
The Pieces of Venice project is being presented at 6.30 pm in the Teatro dell’Agorà of the Triennale di Milano on January 11th. The designers who have participated in the project include: Marco Auber, Paolo and Michela Baldessari, Mariapia Bellis, Patrizia Bertolini, Carlo Cumini, Odoardo Fioravanti, Giuilio Iacchetti, Cristian Malisan, Lorenzo Palmeri, Matteo Ragni, and Marco Zito.
