A new concept of city, whose infrastucture becomes a technological platform.

As a major player in the great market transformations, Umpi Group has been through different experiences in smart city services and now presents some important case histories. The various experiences and experiments in improving or even reinventing cities in the big game of globalization in Western countries are collected here.

This book - written and published by Art Valley - shows some of the scenarios in which cities are reinvented, not only in terms of town planning criteria but also in technological, cultural and topological terms.

Moreover, in some university contexts - in America, Japan, and France - a debate on the forthcoming science of city technology has begun. The definition of this science in the English language is “citymatics”: a science about city automation.
